Killed within the workings of No 12 Pit of Donibristle Colliery.  Cause: Instantaneously killed by a piece of rock weighing about half a ton falling upon him

On Tuesday afternoon, in No. 12 Pit, Donibristle Colliery, Fifeshire, while a man named Andrew Seath was engaged at the face, an immense block of stone fell on him, crushing him beneath it. He was instantaneously killed. Deceased was 40 years of age, and has left a widow and family.
 
Note by CJS - Age was actually 36 and not 40 as reported.

Notes
 
Andrew left behind 7 children the youngest of whom was only 1 year old.
Betsy Mitchell, Andrews wife married Thomas Rattray on the 12th Feb 1892.  Rattray was killed on the 26th August 1901 in the Donibristle Pit Disaster.
