Son of Andrew and Mary Seath (nee Laing), Husband of Jessie Manson Seath, of 21 Orwell Place, Edinburgh.  Born at Strathkinness, St Andrews, Fife.
 
Alexander Seath was born at Strathkinness, St Andrews, Fife around 1888 to Andrew Seath and Mary Laing.  Andrew was originally from Cupar in Fife.
 
Andrew and Mary had already lost one son, David, in 1916 in France.
 
He married Jessie Manson on the 11th of June 1914 in Edinburgh and moved to 21 Orwell Place in the city, 17 days before Gavrilo Princip, a Bosnian Serb student, killed ArchduketFranz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, in Sarajevo and kick started the "war to end all wars"
 
It is not known when Alexander joined to fight for the cause but he was never to see the end of the war.  He was buried at Buzancy, France.
